Held in celebration of Jakarta’s 499th anniversary, the festival marks a pivotal moment as the city nears its 500-year milestone. Jakarta is actively embracing cultural exchange and global collaboration.

Pram noted that cultural diplomacy remains a core pillar of the city’s identity.

Aside that, the city has hosted numerous international cultural events that bring together traditions, ideas, and creative expressions from across the globe.

Such efforts highlight Jakarta’s steadfast commitment to cultural diplomacy and international collaboration.

"We’re keeping that spirit alive with the Jakarta World FolkFest 2026. May this festival be a vibrant hub for cultural exchange, uniting us all through the power of performance, tradition, and shared experiences," he remarked.

This event serves as a stage to present Jakarta as a dynamic and friendly global city.

Delegates will get a firsthand look at Jakarta’s heritage at Monas and Kota Tua.

"We want our guests to experience the history and transformation that define who we are today," he added.

As Jakarta rises as a global city, it stays firmly anchored in its traditions. Pramono noted that culture is the ultimate bridge for connection and community building. Through this festival, he aims to celebrate global diversity and showcase Jakarta's vision—a global hub that is profoundly proud of its cultural soul.

Save the dates! The Jakarta World Folklore Festival 2026 runs from July 1st to 7th. Beyond exploring the city's top sights, delegates will take center stage at Sarinah from July 3–5.

Don't miss this vibrant collaboration as global performers and Jakarta’s own art teams bring the Sarinah deck to life.
